Set in a landscaped park, the Aga Khan Museum, Toronto’s most exciting venue, combines masterpieces of art with Pritzker Prize–winning design from architect Fumihiko Maki, creating a unique space to host corporate and private events. The Aga Khan Museum features a wide range of spaces, including a 335-seat auditorium, a room inspired by a Persian salon, a collections gallery, and a courtyard enclosed by glass and paved with geometric-patterned stonework.

Auditorium and Lobbies

The auditorium combines state of the art facilities with exquisite architecture and excellent acoustics. Under a dome inspired by the ceilings of a 10th century Islamic buildings, any event will be special.

Floor Plan – Auditorium

Diwan

Diwan’s stunning décor evokes the luxury of a private Syrian home in the early 19th century. Its wooden panels, hand-carved and painted, form part of the Aga Khan Museum’s “Damascus Room” acquisition. The oldest examples of such panels date to the early 17th century in Aleppo, and similar rooms are preserved in Damascus, Hama, Sidon, and Antakya. The mirrors, partly original, and the repertoire of motifs of the Aga Khan Museum’s “Damascus Room” suggest the influence of European Baroque and Rococo art.

Bellerive Room

Enjoy an intimate Persian style salon complete with a collection of ceramics that date back as far as the 9th century. Originally conceived by Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan and Princess Catherine Aga Khan for their residence in Switzerland, the room has been carefully reimagined in the Aga Khan Museum.

Museum Collections

The setting amid the beauty and sophistication of one of the world’s premier collections of works of art from Muslim civilizations makes any event a special occasion. World renowned art, including pages from the magnificently illustrated version of the Iranian Shah-Nameh (Book of Kings), marks the gallery as a destination that stands out.
  • Ideal for standing receptions.
  • Food and beverage is not permitted in the Museum Collections.

Atrium and Courtyard

The courtyard and atrium are two of the architectural highlights of the Aga Khan Museum. Nestled like a crystal jewel box in the centre of the building, the glassed-in courtyard throws dramatic patterns of light and shadow onto the walls of the atrium.

Patron’s Lounge

Hold functions in a room that has panoramic views of Toronto stretching down to the CN Tower and Lake Ontario. In the foreground are gardens and reflecting pools that showcase a distinctive modern take on the traditional Islamic garden. The Patron’s Lounge is suitable for a range of small events, including board meetings, private dining, and intimate receptions.

Aga Khan Park

The park and gardens, designed by the notable landscape architect Vladimir Djurovic, combine a contemporary design with the essence of a traditional Islamic garden. A peaceful oasis amid the fast pace of Urban life, the park offers a place for inspiration and contemplation in a setting that features beautiful trees, manicured lawns, and reflecting pools.

  • Seating and reception occupancy is determined by event layout.

  • A versatile design which allows for large and small events.
  • The gardens house two of Toronto’s most exciting buildings, designed by renowned architects.
  • The gardens are laid out according to the classic Persian design of the chahar bagh – the most famous of which is at the Taj Mahal.
